Hi,

i`m supposed to buy an axim basic and expand it`s memory with a cf card.

I`m just wondering, if its possible to install programs on the cf card and not in the ram?

Can you do this with every programs or are there only some progs that let you choose?

It is possible and advisable.

Most programs will let you choose where it can be installed. Although some (usually today-screen plugins, system utilities) will require main memory to run optimally.

I just updated my Battery Pack app, and it demands to be installed to main memory. Most shell programs are probably like this.

Almost all games and other "heavy" apps will let you install to memory cards.

It's advisable to NOT install any PIM overlay or replacement apps on CF/SD cards, you can, but anything like PIM that is so core to the device should really be ON the device. Same goes for Browsers, you can, but considering many of the third party browsers cause so many lockups as it is, why tempt fate by installing it on a card?
