I recently deleted some software and then I noticed that the program icon was still showing in the folder that it was installed. When I click the icon I am told that it cannot find it - make sense since I deleted it.

How do I delete this icon?
How do I create shortcuts like in windows?

Download Total Commander CE from ppc4all.com (and check out the rest of their site). It'll help you navigate the file/folder structure easily, delete files, make shortcuts, etc... and it's free!

To create shortcuts, find the EXE file for the item, or the doc file if that's what you want, and tap-hold 'till you see copy. Copy.
Nav to destination folder, tap-hold in an open area and select Paste shortcut.
The real trick is finding the right destination folder to make the thing appear where you want it.

With the add-on file managers, it's easier to see the directory structure sometimes.
I got DEXplorer, but I still use the original File Explorer for quick things. Battery Bar (and others ) give you "desktop" shortcuts for everything executable ( u pick the ones you want) and a path fill-in for regular files.
