I am currently unable to change start menu background from white to theme picture. It dosn't matter if I check the box (use this picture as the background), it is clear for some theme's and theme picture on others. I have done a soft reset, with no change. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you try using a completely different image for the start screen? I may behave differently then.
If a file gets garbled, maybe just upload it again ... w/ no competition from IE or outlook checking mail at the same time.
