Sound/Audio Recording
I know Dell had voice recording in mind when they put the built in mic and recording software into the Axim, but they do have adjustable audio specs to record at CD quality 16 bit, 44.1kHz.

When I do any recording, there is a slight hiss, and I was wondering if anyone has used the recording feature to capture "Live" music, or if anyone else has this kind of hiss.

I'd like to do some live recording of music, and the hiss ruins it for me. For a digital recorder, the sound recordings at the best setting should be virtually quiet.

Nathan,

I appreciate your reply, but even at the best setting, the sound sucks. Since this Axim was my first PPC, I didn't know any better. I really thought they might all sound like this.

I returned it, and got a HP 1910, and the difference in the sound is amazing. It's everything I want in a recording device, small with great sound. I never expected SUCH a difference. I still run all my other cool PPC software, and the added recording feature for me is now a must.

It must be the mic and sound chip in the Axim being terrible.

i wouldve stuck with the axim, but for what you use it for, that is probally a better choice.
