Hi all,
First up..I don't know much about PDA's or the Axim.

I am in the market to purchase a PDA with accesories up to $1,200.00 AUS.

Now, as I said I don't know too much about them but I know what I want to do with it namely:

1. Access the internet (via modem and standard phone line)
2. Purchase the NIV and the ESV bible and have them permanently on the PDA.
3. Access email account

That is principally all I need it for.

What do I need to purchase to achieve this and will the Axim do the job.

I know..a difficult question perhaps but I do appreciate all help.

I moved this post to the Newbies forum to get it more exposure.

I have the Laridian NIV and ESV Bibles. They are excellent and easy to use. In addition to the Bibles, Laridian also has other texts available, including concordances and commentaries. Olive Tree also has a Bible reader. www.laridian.com and www.olivetree.com are the URLs.

Email is a built in application for PocketPC. You can either directly access it or sync it from your PC. Assuming you connect directly to your provider through the modem/dial up it should be pretty easy to set up mail.

On the modem, there are a number of manufacturers of CF card modems. If you go to computers.com and search for "cf card modem" you will get several hits. You can also google for that same string and find other sources. Socket is a good brand, but a bit more pricey than others.
