AXIM 400mhz - Where's my 48MB Flash Rom????

Hi all,

Just got my new AXIM X5, 400Mhz, 64Mb SDRAM, 48MB Flash Rom. Generally well pleased......

When I go to Settings > System > Memory ........
It display the MAIN tab, showing the 64Mb (well, 63.54) total main memory, split between storage / program....Fair enough.

When I switch to the Storage Card TAB, showing built in storage, it shows Total Storage Card Memory of 21.24 MB ?????

Shouldn't this be my 48Mb ROM, or am I missing something?? If it's not, where is the 48Mb flash, and how do you check usage of that??

The 21+ Mbytes is the available-to-you part of the 48 Mbyte flash ROM. The rest is the operating system flashed onto the ROM and not available to you until and unless Dell comes out with a flash upgrade. In the 300, with 32 Meg flash ROM, you would only have 5 Meg available there.

You do have 48M of ROM. The rest is being used by the Pocket PC 2002 O/S.
