Question Memory Operation

Hi ,

Being a first time owner of a PDA (axim x50v) I would really appreciate the benefit of your expertise.

I have very little loaded on my PDA and following advice from this forum have installed all additional programmes, e-books etc on my SD card.

However, I find that I still only have approx. 10mb free, 5mb free in storage and 5mb free in progam. This is not even sufficient to run Stuntcar (free game from Dell) Am I missing something obvious or is this the norm?

Also, I did install and then remove the ewallet freeware programme but I still get a message on startup that "cannot execute\program files\eWallet\eWallet.exe". I've searched for any leftover components but none to be found. Again, I checked this out here on installing and did re-install and remove again but still no joy. Any thoughts on how I can get rid of this.

Thanks for any help in advance, super site, hope some day I'll be as good as ye lot.

Orlaigh.

Welcome to Aximsite!

Do you do any surfing? PIE quickly accumulates temp files which will bog down your memory as well. Go into Tools - Options and in the Memory and Security tabs, clear your cookies, temp files, history, etc.

Thanks, but I haven't progressed to surfing yet. I did check as you suggest but nothing there. I had already deleted all the temp files in the Windows directory, but no great impact.

Why don't you get a trial version of MemMaid and try that. You may be surprised what it will free up. But, if you haven't been surfing, as Gigi suggested, I don't know what could be clogging up your memory.

Gigi, I do like the way you set up your signature with the help links. Mind if I use your idea?

I did a soft reset and that freed up 20mb. Also tried memmaid and recovered another 2mb. Delighted with this result. Thanks for the help.

There might be a shortcut located in the startup directory has need to get deleted

Open file explorer and locate your way into \\windows\startup\ and see if you can find a shortcut (link) to ewallet.

Also get a registry editor and use the find function and look for "ewallet" and delete all instances of it.

Oh, and lastly to aximsite!
