Format CF

I just got my Axim today and it rocks. When I tried to use the CF card that I use to use for my MP3 player. I can't delete the files on it nor can I format it for it's true size.

Help Please

Your Axim cannot reformat CF cards or SD cards for some gay reason. But what do you expect, it's an awesome piece of technology for only 2 or 300. My advice for you would be to reformat it in your digital camera if it can. I know mine can.

What do you mean by "true size?" If what you mean is that the reported size on the AX isn't the labelled size on the card, it's because of the differences in definition of megabyte. There are a couple of threads here about that, but the bottom line is that card manufacturers use 1,000,000 bytes as a megabyte, but the operating system uses 1024 * 1024, or 1,048, 576 bytes as a megabyte. Do the math and see if that is the explanation.

It's a 64 MB CF card that the Axim Reads as only 22mb.
Also I don't have a camera to reformat it. The card was used originally in an MP3 player.

Let me guess... is it a San Disk CF card?
Sorry, man. I don't have any other ideas for you, except maybe asking a friend who has a camera who could do that for you.

No it's not made by SanDisk
But I used this program http://www.cnetx.com/format/
It format the disk, but for some reason the disk can't be read or written to.
