I know that the buttons can be remapped to start various apps but does anyone know if there is a way to set it up so that the buttons do not power on the unit. I keep getting accidental power ups when the buttons get bumped without me knowing it, then precious battery juice is wasted. I would prefer to have it so that just the power button on top turns it on and off. Whadayathink?

Yep, just click on Start - Settings - System - Power, then the Control tab on the bottom, you'll see the options for bringing your Axim out of suspend mode by hitting a button (or not).

I just disabled mine, I don't want any accidental power-ups either :D

Thanks for the tip. I should have known it would be that simple to do. :o I guess I didn't realize that when you power off the unit, you really are just going into a suspend mode. The wording had me fooled, so that's why I never tried changing those settings, even though I had seen them before.
