Finally done my first draft. I will improve on it as I have more Freeware than listed. I have to thank Rob1303 for sharing his code.
Looking good Frenchy. You are finding out how much typing is involved in View MyPDA. Once you get it all done, it's pretty easy to keep updated. In the end you have a real sense of accomplishment and a good feeling that you have done something that will be a help to others. :approve:
Just to let everyone know, my "View MyPDA" has been updated with new software links and website links designed for viewing on the PDA. Check out Skweezer. It's a site that you can go to on your PDA, type in any url and it will format it automatically to view on the PDA. Enjoy. :)
Hey all. This might not be the best place to post this question but I ask this because, Rob you have the same setup and really like NoteM. I know that the speaker on the Axim X30 sucks...is in a bad place....and doesn't seem to have much power, but is there any trick to recording that I'm missing using NoteM? I'd love to record meetings, but so far my experimentation with the recorder has not been good. It seems to record to softly. I thought I've tried everything but if you like it so much, then I'm hoping that I'm missing something. Could it be that playback is only good when using headphone? I was really hoping to ditch my (very expensive but faithful) digital recorder and not have to carry both. (One of the reasons I got a new pda).
Thanks
Wrangler

Hey Wrangler,
Unfortunately the built in speaker is not of the highest quality, but as Tierran said, you can adjust the recording properties and make the quality better.
The first way is to go to the start menu, settings, input, options tab. I have mine set to the highest quality stereo bitrate(44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo).
After that, close everything and then open NoteM. Go to the tools tab, options, Advanced settings, Change, and set the Bitrate to High and check the stereo box. Go back to the previous screen and change the Default storage path to a folder on your storage card.
Close everything. Go back to Start menu, Settings, Buttons, and change Button 1 to NoteM. We are finished. You should have much better quality recordings. Depending how much free space you have on your storage card you should have more recording time also.
Thanks, but I'm looking for the version with no memory, but accepts standard SD cards for transfer
(I thought the one on your desk was this type . . . a co-worker has one and it is very small, but can't find the source anymore)
Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were talking about the flash drive. The SanDisk card reader I got at BestBuy just a few weeks ago. They should still have them. It's called SanDisk ImageMate USB 2.0 Reader/Writer SDDR-99.
I did try to adjust the settings some but will get more detailed using the settings that you mentioned Rob. I'd like to give NoteM a chance (Hey it's free!) :) But have been looking at Resco's recorder as well. (cool interface) It's only 13.97, until Dec. 31. (Some great deals going on over at their site). http://www.resco-net.com/homepage.asp
My whole goal is to be able to used the PDA one handed (using buttons instead of stylus) so that I can make notes going down the road in my truck. I guess sound quality is not as much of an issue as the button issue.
According to NoteM's settings I'm supposed to be able to do that (button thing) but was wondering from your experience if it actually works. Do you use yours that way? Or do you use the stylus most of the time? No biggie. Thanks for your help. As I try this, I guess I'll become more of an authority on it.

Yes the one button recording works fine. You can start and stop a recording at the touch of button #1. The d-pad will scroll through your recordings.

Just to let everyone know. I have done a major update to my "View MyPDA" page. There is a new category called, "Good Commercial Software Sites". I have also added descriptions to all the software I have listed. Just a reminder that all the sites and software are hyperlinked. Have fun.
