I'd love to record meetings, but so far my experimentation with the recorder has not been good. It seems to record to softly. I thought I've tried everything but if you like it so much, then I'm hoping that I'm missing something. Could it be that playback is only good when using headphone? I was really hoping to ditch my (very expensive but faithful) digital recorder and not have to carry both. (One of the reasons I got a new pda).

Hey Wrangler,
Unfortunately the built in speaker is not of the highest quality, but as Tierran said, you can adjust the recording properties and make the quality better.
The first way is to go to the start menu, settings, input, options tab. I have mine set to the highest quality stereo bitrate(44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo).
After that, close everything and then open NoteM. Go to the tools tab, options, Advanced settings, Change, and set the Bitrate to High and check the stereo box. Go back to the previous screen and change the Default storage path to a folder on your storage card.
Close everything. Go back to Start menu, Settings, Buttons, and change Button 1 to NoteM. We are finished. You should have much better quality recordings. Depending how much free space you have on your storage card you should have more recording time also.
Hope this helps.
