I have a x50 with several programs running constantly. I use pocket breeze, ilauncher, and pocket weather. I constantly have about 6-8 megs of memory available. I installed memaid to see if i could free up some more memory, but not much of a change.

Any thoughts how to free up my memory?

I would get an SD or CF card and install your apps there instead of into the memory. Some apps must be run from the main memory, but only those that run when you turn on the Axim - like today screen plug ins.

Installing to the card leaves you more memory to run apps.

I should have been more clear...

SD card: 256mbs-all programs
CF card: 128mbs-a few pics, my backups

The only program that I am aware of running in main memory is AvantGo. I downloaded a golf game that needs a minumum of 8mbs free memory to run. That's how this all got started for me.

1. Remove your themes from the Windows directory to My Documents on a storage card (some of the today plugins throw their themes in the windows directory).

2. Remove all the help files (.htm) from your Windows directory to your storage card.

3. Move the original odClientCE.exe (in Windows) to a storage card and overwrite the odClientCE.exe with a 0kb version (a renamed textfile). Then point the shortcut to the new location.

4. Use tweaktools to move your attachments, Avantgo cache, PIE cache en shared dll's to a storage card.

5. install the A03 ROM

This should at least free a couple of MB's

Hmm, sounds like alot to do. Couple of questions..

-You recommend using tweak tools to do the moving?
-Is it free?
-Can I move and create folders how i want in my pda?
-AO3 ROM is installed.

Also an update, I deleted Avantgo and I went from 6 or 7 mb of free memory to 20-21 mb free. The change in my pda is awesome. Kinda bummed since I did like Avantgo.

-Yes, Tweak2k2 has a lot of these tweaks built-in. Also Memmaid has built-in tweaks to move your caches to storage card (and is a great tool for freeing memory)
-No, unfortunately not. You can always try a trial and see if it's worth your money :)
-No the registry has to be changed as well in some cases (that's why I use the tweak apps: they take care of the registry for you)
Creating a My Documents folder on a storage card and moving themes to it doesn't require any registry changes (and gets rid of the ignore_my_docs file)
