Worried Reading iPlanet webmail on Pocket IE

Hello All -

I just got my x50v last week and am busy getting everything working.

The one thing that I can't seem to get to work is my school's webmail (from iPlanet) to render correctly in Pocket IE. After I log in, it's just a blank white screen.

I think it may be because the webmail page is pretty heavy on Java and I'm not sure how well PIE supports Java.

If anyone out there has any hints or advice, or has run up against this problem before, I'd love to hear it...

Thanks,

LL

Congrats on getting an X50v! I suspect your webmail probably uses either Java or JavaScript. PIE doesn't support Java applets and has very limited support for JavaScript. I suggest downloading the demo version of NetFront 3.1 from http://nfppc.access.co.jp/english/. NetFront has excellent JavaScript support and supports a limited number of smaller Java applets.

NF does the same thing with iPlanet webmail sites. My office uses iPlanet and I downloaded NF 3.3 (Axim x51v WM5) and the site will still not get past the "Loading: Please Wait..." screen.

Now you can try Minimo.
Or ask if it is possible to use Imap or Pop and SMTP protocols instead of web interface.

I tried Minimo - but the VGA rendering for the X51v is terrible. I also downloaded Opera yesterday (the new Beta version for PPC) and it also hangs.

I would love to use IMAP and use the mail app but my ISP blocks port 25 so I can't send any e-mail. (Yes, I know there are ways around that)
