Can't Connect to Internet thru Activesync & Cradle

I recently updated to A03 and found that while my pda is in the cradle I am unable to access the internet. My pocket weather is now useless and unable to update.

I don't know what to do.

thanks

Internet passthrough?

Did you make sure Internet passthru is enabled in ActiveSync? Also, just for the heck of it, temporarily disable your firewall and see if it works. It may see your device as a 'new' device because of the update and, therefore, require a new rule for firewall access.

Robert,

I double checked ActiveSync and Internet passthru is enabled. I then went and shut down my firewall in windows. I have my pda sitting in the cradle and tried to access the internet, ActiveSync is connected. No go, I can't access the internet. I'm not on.

Hey Alexcar,

I spent and hour with a Dell rep last night on the internet trying to get this resolved.

-Pass through is checked and internet is selected in ActiveSync
-I shut the firewall off (although it worked fine before with this setting)
-I had Odyssey Client on
-WLAN Utility on with full bars (I do have a wireless connection)
-We did a soft reset with everything mentioned above and yet still nothing

I have a wireless setup at my house and it was then that I noticed that even with full bars on my WLAN Utility I still couldn't get on the internet. That is when we started tweaking with the Network Settings. After a ROM Upgrade and hard reset I never went back and switched the Network Settings back to "My ISP" from the "Work" setting. Once I did that, viola! Pocket Weather updated itself within a few seconds before I could even check it out.

I played a little bit with the settings and for whatever reason both need to be set to "My ISP" in your network settings for it to work. So I'm up and running finally :approve: .

So Alexcar not sure how familiar you are with things but try this...

-Start-> Settings -> Connections -> Connections -> Advanced -> Select Networks -> and then change (hopefully) both drop down windows to "My ISP", then hit "OK".

If you have Pocket Weather go to settings within that program and scroll over to "Comms", on that page there is a "Test Connection" button. Hit it, and good luck!

Let me know how it goes..
