[COLOR=blue] Ok, I give!!! I installed a wireless CF card, and I can see my access point and ping the gateway...yada yada. I can even ping the DNS for my cablemodem. BUT when i try to use internet explorer it wants to dial out through a modem. How can I set it to use the wireless card for IE in connections?

In addition to setting the properties for the network card to access your network, you also need to set the connection properties to access the internet. Tap on START - SETTINGS then the "Connections" tab, then select the "Connections" applet. There are two default connection types, "Work Settings" and "Internet Settings". Select "Work Settings" for all three choices on the screen (the "Internet Settings" only dials a modem). Then click one of the "Modify" buttons to set the properties for this connection type. Check the first box to say this connection connects to the internet. Depending on how your network is setup, you may also need to check the second box to use a proxy and then enter the name or IP address of the proxy. For example, my home network has a satellite-based internet provider and I must use the one PC that has the satellite modem connected to it as a "gateway" PC. All the other PC's on the network must use the IP adress of that one "gateway" PC as their proxy. There is also an "Advanced" button if you need to specify any ports other than 80 or if you need to specify any user ID for the proxy.
