Desktop????

When you switch on the X50V is what you get the equivalent of the desktop in XP.

If so is it possible to have Icons with shortcuts to your programs?

Or if you really like the xp interface you can download the trial or buy eXPerience v2.09 by Digital Expedition. I have a link in MyPDA if ya need one. It costs $20.

If you don't want a complete shell replacement (as the two above are)

Then just have a look at programmes that allow you to place icons on your today screen - I use iLauncher (linked in my MyPDA).

There are even free versions available of launchers - such as cLaunch.

So basically the answer is yes, but you will need 3rd party software. In this case, it's refered to as a Today Plug In.

Here is also a good one, but not free.

There is another one called TD Launcher. I think it was free, I just can't remember. I personally use one called "Scott Seligman Launcher". It was free and a quick Google search will locate it for you.

I like this one called PPX which can be found by clicking the banner in my signature. IMHO it is the best I've tried so far.

"Launcher" is another one. It is not the greatest, but it is free.
