Memory & Storage? Need explaination

Hey guys,

I just got an axim x3i and I am confused as to the differences in the memory

First, what is the difference between storage & program memory

Second, what is the point of built-in storage? can i put games & apps on it?

Thanks

Quick summary...

Say you have 32MB ram right. This is split by the OS to give you some storage space and some application/program usage space. So, the less you use your internal storage, the more ram you have for running programs/apps...i.e. your axim will seem faster. So, when your installing programs through activesync, instead of choosing ok to install the program to the default directory choose your storage card for the install location. This way your programs are on your storage card and your ram accesses them when it needs them. Note you must have that storage card in your axim if you want to use the programs of course. So, any programs you want to be able to use without your flash card in your axim, you should install to the default location which will be in the internal memory. Hope this helps...

reading is a little slower so you might get a little delay (but normally not really noticable). Writing is a lot slower so programs that write a lot of information (avantgo being the most famous example) run very slowly.

TechnutX30.... No worries, enjoy :)
