Root Directory

Okay, really newbie question. I have been reading alot about how I should create my docs folder on SD card and delete "ignore_my_docs" from it. How do I get to the root directory to do this?(guess I need to figure out how to find it in BIS also) The only way I even see "ignore_my_docs" is when browsing to add short cuts to iLauncher. Find, File explorer don't seem to show it. Am I typing it in wrong? Do I need some other program to see it? Any help would be welcome. Thanks

Try "BROWSE"ing from Activesync. I've deleted the "ignore_my_docs" in BIS, CF, and SD -- made a directory called "My Documents" in each and everything seems to be working flawlessly this way.

Anything that needs to be in "My Documents", I move to one of the other locations.

Combined with MemMaid (the DLL mover thing) -- I'm working perfectly with 39.2 megs free.

When I use active sync, explore, I click on my device, sd card, I get a list of program folders, but nothing else. Sorry for being so ignorant.

You should be able to see the individual files as well. In the root directory of your SD card, you **MIGHT** have the file called, "ignore_my_docs" -- if you do, delete it. If you don't, then (from what I know -- I could be wrong on this) just create a "My Documents" folder and you should be good to go....

Assuming we live in a perfect world...

I can open all the folders and each is named for the program it contains. I guess I just don't get where or how to look for the root directory.

When you EXPLORE your PPC, double-click on MY POCKET PC. This will be your true ROOT directory. From here, you want to look in BUILT-IN STORAGE, CF CARD, and SD CARD. Soon as you open one of those specific directories, you will be in the 'root' of that individual 'drive'.

I figured it out! For some reason view hidden files was deselected on my desktop. I feel like such an idiot. Appreciate the help and patience.
