When I play mp3 files recorded at 24 kbps 16000hz they sound as if they were playing in fast forward. Files recorded at 24kbps 22050hz play normally. Both work fine on the desktop. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Is this when playing through Media Player? You may want to try GSPlayer, PocketMVP, or withMP3. There are several MP3 players for PocketPC, maybe one of them can play them correctly?
