Question Syncing Calendar through IMAP to desktop and PDA?

Hi all,

I'm hoping to utilise the collective knowledge here, as I'm stuck!

Right, my work email has changed to Microsoft Outlook Web Access, which includes inbox, calendar, etc. I've set up my account as IMAP in Outlook XP, so I get all the folders, including calendar. However...what I'd like to then be able to do is sync the calendar items:

1) to the main calendar in Outlook XP

2) by extension, then sync to my PDA

I've been informed by the (optimistically titled) I.T. department at work that Exchange Activesync, etc, is not an option.

Any of you guys know how I could do this? Having a remote calendar isn't that excellent if I can't sync it to my local machines!

Many thanks in anticipation of any responses. Any questions, then post away!

Have they explicitly told you not to set up outlook XP with an exchange account (instead of IMAP)?

If you could do that, you could just sync the PDA to outlook XP.

Ok...

Many thanks for your response leehro. I've managed, after several days, to set up an Exchange account (which involved connecting via VPM as the server rejected all non-company IPs).

However, I'm now struggling to understand how the Exchange calendar is synced with the main calendar in Outlook...? It seems they are two separate calendars. Is there something simply I'm overlooking here? My screen looks like this:

As you can see, the Exchange calendar is a different entity to the one under the main "Outlook Today - Personal" heading. How does one combine them?

Thanks all.

I would look at the calendar (Personal Folder) as catagory (View>Arrange By...>Category) then select all and past to Mailbox.

Can you sync the Axim with the Exchange Server directly? Bypass the desktop altogether?
