Ok, this is probably dumb, but I have to ask so I don't have a dissapointed son on Christmas morning


I noticed the game boy I bought is marked "Game Boy Advance SP" the Sonic game I bought is marked "for Game Boy Advance" Does this mean it won't work on a Game Boy Advance SP? What is the SP?

It will work, don't worry.
GB Advance SP is the one with backlit screen, the one that folds into a small square shaped one.

GB Advance is the bigger one, and it does not have backlit screen.

So, go aheady, GBA games are universal and will work on GBA and GBA SP and on Nintendo DS as well.

The GBA SP is backwards compatible with the GBA advance cartridges, and even the gb color cartridges from back in the day.

Wendy - Don't know if they have them in your area, but check out Game Stop for used games. These things get quite expensive new. We bought 5 used games for $30.

We have something similar in the area. I have been buying games for about six months or so and I picked up several for $5 and $10 on sale. I will have to check out the used place in the future. The most expensive games are those stinkin Wii games. Thank goodness we can rent them first!

We haven't done the Wii thing yet. I'm not big on gaming anymore. I think I got burned out playing the Atari Astroids game years ago.
