Best AVI players
I have done a lot of research and it seems to me that for the money my Axim 51v is still the best buy.

With Lenny's WM6 so I can use a 32gig CF card, I can watch the entire 4 seasons of China Beach - no problem. The audio is awesome, the video (with TCPMP) is fantastic and the battery life is not bad - a couple of hours. So, I have a couple of spare batteries for those long flights.

Not only will it play movies (avi, etc) & MP3s, but it also is can go online, and I can use any software that will play on WM6 - (office, ISILO, etc.).

For the money, does anyone know of a better bet?

The x51v is a pretty good device. If you want something similar that is new and dont want the hassle of doing os upgrades, get a hp, but it will be more expensive.

The axim x51v still is a good buy.

I looked at Zune, IPod, Sandisk and for the money this still seemed like the best way to go even for movies.

I just wanted to make sure my findings were correct when I posted and seeing no one disputing my claim - this must be right ;-)

I just bought another one this week on e-bay under $200. My last one I ran over with my own car (can you believe it - accidently. I forgot it was on the roof, it fell, crush - what else can I say OUCH!). Can't wait for it to arrive.
