I'm not personally familiar with the Phillips DAP, but most reviews I could find of it didn't seem too favorable. I know past Philips GoGear DAP's were simply re-branded products of other companies...not sure about this one. As to the comment above about memory capacity, the Creative ZEN does support external memory in the form of a SD card, whereas the Phillips DAP does not. The ZEN supports the SDHC format, so with the purchase of say, a 32GB SDHC card, you can turn your ZEN into a 36GB player.
The only down-side to the ZEN's use of external memory is that they aren't designed where the content on the card is integrated with the content on the internal memory of the player. This is a convenient feature for other players, such as most Sandisk players, or the Cowon D2. What this means is you'll have a sortable library on the ZEN's LCD for music on it's internal flash memory, then you'll have to access a separate menu on its' GUI for whatever content in on the card. You can't create playlists for music that's on both memory sources, and you have a limited number of sorting options for music that's on the card.
But if you can work around those limitations (many owners have), you'll have a solid little player with a large capacity for music, videos, photos, etc. I'd still recommend the ZEN over the GoGear.....
