The Sandisk Sansa is the most underrated mp3 player out there.
enough with the Zune and ipod garbage. go read about the sansa and all its features.. you would be suprised.

what is it that makes an mp3 player anygood... Surely as long as they sound halfway decent, and have enough storage space they're all the same

Well there are people who refuse to listen to CDs without hugely expensive speakers... and then there are the rest of us.
My MP3 player is a flash based one built into my DAB radio.. it plays mp3 when I don't feel like listening to dab. It sounds just fine..
It's just I can't understand the iPod vs Zune vs Zen vs Sansa rivalry. I assime they all play mp3.. I assume they all sound OK.. I assume they all have similar levels of storage.. so apart from pretty looks, and online stores.. what actually makes one significantly better than the others

Nothing ?
I don't have an expensive home stereo....
I like gadgets...so I like MP3 players....
preferences for one over the other... is usually very subjective.... no HUGE differences in the players

ill tell u what makes the sansa better than the other i think...
the durability...with that i think its titanium backing..ive dropped a number of times..sure the interface is a little tough to get used to..but its not that hard..i love the click wheel for a precise SET movement...
the zune...well if uve ever picked one up...ud know its just stupid..
zen..theyre a lil complicated to use..especially the micros(the tought part is the touchpad and judgin how hard to tap or press it.)..and the v...the buttons are in odd places.. and are really small...
now the ipod...well..its a great product no doubt(now)...they had a ton of OS issues at the start and a lot of them were always dying randomly....and since i then i refused to trust them..even though they have a billion different attatchments for it..i couldnt bring myself to buy one..

After having a Rio and some other thing that I don't remember, what makes this good?
Agree, it's durable. It also just works. My last two seemed to have issues and after reading some forums, I wasn't alone. So the SanDisk works. And it is reasonably priced with good sizes and features.
