So...
Who all has their unit? What do you think of it? What games to you have?

As for me, I'm probably going to wait until May/June and buy one on eBay. That's what I did with my Axim X3i, and I saved a good $150.

Like you I have decided to wait, first of all I think the first batch of them are bound to have many problems, so I will wait for Sony to fix the bugs and stuff, also I am waiting for a price drop $250 is to steep for me.

I agree. I certainly don't want to spend $250+ just to get a unit that has dead pixels.

^exactly, I know that you can return it but you still have to wait most of the time, which takes a couple weeks, and all honesty its not worth $250, mp3 player and movie player or not its not worth $250.

in the "value pack" you get the system, battery, headphones with remote (awesome), 32mb memory stick duo, lanyard strap, soft slip style case, spiderman2 umd, umd sampler, and written materials.

as for battery life, i havent really had much to test it, i usually leave it plugged in while im not playing but i do know that the life changes depending on what you do with it

I haven't had any battery issues with mine, the battery is lasting quite a while. As for dead pixels, mine doesn't have any and I hope it doesn't develop any either.

I prepaid mine at EB since around January and I am very happy with my purchase. I never bought a Gameboy but when I saw the PSP I knew I had to have one.

You guys think $250 is alot? In Canada PSP's cost $380! Our dollar is pretty close to the US dollar too. ($1 CAD = $0.82 USD so $250USD = $305CAD)

I have not got the chance to try one yet, my local bestbuy and gamestop at the mall of america didn't have any out for display. As for dead pixels, I dont think they are going to get it to have 0 dead pixels, because many LCDs are manufactured with them (sony doesn't make the LCDs anyways) and would cost too much to throw away any lcd with dead pixels.

Well i got mine on the 24th of march, My birthday. Its a darn shame that even at 43 years of age I just had to buy this thing. I felt like a 12 year old. Anyway, I followed the psp hype for several months prior to its USA release. Everyone made sure to mention the screen and how dazzled you will be. So I plunk down 271 dollars at my local best buy, this includes tax. I brought it home and began to assemble it without reading the manuel. Who cares about a manuel when this item is sitting in front of you. AS you can guess the first thing I notice is the amazing screen. The resolution was dvd or sattelite tv quality. It immediately justified the price. I bought the so called limited edition that comes with spiderman 2 movie on the UMD media dvd. I say so called because if its limited edition why 1 million units? The next striking thing I notice about the contents of the PSP is the fact that there are no playable demos. I think some genius at sony marketing got away with labeling the demo disk just that when in fact its only viewable demos of actual games for the psp. I was very upset about this because now i have a psp unit with spiderman umd and a sampler of music videos and upcoming movies. I will force myself to wait until next payday to purchase a game at 40 dollars. Battery life was said to be poor but I was able to watch spiderman 2 2x before charging the battery again. The device also comes with a 32mb Memory stick duo card. Looks like an sd card. According to the manuel you could transfer music and photos to the card for use on the PSP via a card reader. I have not tried this yet. I also have not played any games yet since i cant afford one right now. I only have 2 major gripes about the PSP.

1) The sound quality is good but the maximum volume level seems too low for me. Even with headphones the volume level does not reach a high enough level for me. There also should have been a built in software based sound controls like grahic equalizer.

2) The PSP was hyped with wifi right out of the box. Although connecting to my infrastructure network was easy I was dissapointed that no browser was included. Surfing the internet on this screen would have been awsome.

I am buying one of those cases for the psp that charges the unit . There is also one that serves as a stand and external speakers for the PSP.
