The bigger gig ones are starting to come out up to 4 or 6 gig I believe.

Just like anything with computers these days you can expect prices to drop as new improvements cpme out. It's the old: "how long do I wait before I stop waiting?" issue.

When you buy, buy what you can afford and really don't look back. My 250K SD cost what my newer 1Gig SD cost now. They served their purpose at the time. It's crazy at times but that's the gizmo world for you!

Well just got an e-mail from Dell... my order has been delayed until the 29th. Can't lie to you, I also ordered a stick from http://www.sonystyle.com and it has not shipped yet, it doesn't even have an estimated date.

I was expecting this delay, and I'm actually expecting more. I'm pretty sure that on 04/29 I'm gonna get another e-mail from Dell delaying the order again.

Anyone else? Anyone get it, or is it on its way?

^I expected something like that, though I didn't order one or anything, it seemed likely to happen seeing as they disappeared from Dell's site they day after the link for 1GB $99 from Dell was posted here, which is odd to happen imo maybe they weren't suppose to sell them and that was mess up or something but it just seemed odd to me.

As the members scout out the deals, I recommend you go for capacity over all. Get the 1 Gig. I learned that the hard way with my Axim. Now I go only for large capacity.

As expected, just got an e-mail from Dell saying they won't be able to send my order by or on May 6th, 2005. This time they needed me to actually reply and give them my consent to continue with the order or it would be canceled.

Anyone actually get theirs or get the same e-mail?

^thats way too long to wait imo, it would be worth it to get your money back and buy it some where even if it is a little more cause honestly who knows how long you will be waiting.

Anyone know who has the 1GB in stock... Dell once again delayed the order to June 15 because Sony won't be able to release them until then, so they don't have them available either.

Neither EBGames or Gamestop have them... I never expected the shortage to be of this magnitude.

I haven't see any anywhere, not even in most online places, those things are selling like crazy. I was thinking of waiting for DELL to get some more but with all the delay I think I might just have to go with a 512mb as they are much easier to find.

I go through a distributor for good deals on certain hardware, and they dont even have the 1gig in stock. My price for the HighSpeed Sony 1gig is $92 through the distributor and $200 at Best Buy. Best Buy did have 1 available 2 days ago, but I cant see paying double for something I could wait on.

Call around, they ARE in stock places.. you just have to look.

Woohoo! I got one at a Gamestop store... I wasn't going to go in at first and said what the heck, let's try. I got the Logitech case and the 1GB memory stick, now I gotta call Sony and cancel my order, I may still keep the one from Dell though.
