PSP - US / Japan Edition?
Hi folks,


I am from Singapore. Like to know is there a difference between Japan and US edition of the PSP?? How do i tell the difference then? Cos there are these 2 editions sold here..

The difference between a Japense and a USA one is that the JAP PSP uses a screen made by Sharp wich has a higher possilbility for dead pixels.. the screen of the USA psp has a screen made by Samsung..
The JAP psp is Region 2 and USA Region 1.. If you live in Europe it's better to buy a Japense PSP because europe is regio 2 too..

note that games are region free, but UMD movies and music aren't regio free!

It really depends if you're planning to buy a lot of movies for your PSP. If you are and are in a position to buy them from a US supplier e.g. Amazon, then it might be worth buying the U.S. Region 1 unit.
