Cases for PSP
Has anyone checked out the cases by Proporta yet? I have one for my PDA and they're usually pretty good. They seem to have a flip cover and a case. Think I'd go for the full leather case to protect the whole unit.

An aluminum case will protect the device pretty well. I don't see what good a leather case does other than protecting the screen. With such an expensive device as the PSP, I'd want to make sure that it didn't get scratched.

Leather Cases?

Umm, most Pocket PCs cost more than the PSP, and there's a huge market for leather cases. Screen protection is really one of the most important functions a case can have, because the screens on portable electronics are one of the most (if not the most) expensive parts. Also, it's really hard to use a device with a broken screen.

As for leather cases, they tend to be soft inside, so what's going to scratch the PSP? It would take a pretty sharp object to get through a good leather case.

My Case
I got the Intec starter kit with the big metal case. Unlike my Pocket PC, the PSP isn't something I'm going to take everywhere with me, so the ability to attach it to my belt wasn't high on the priority list, but I wanted something that would hold a few games/movies and several accessories.

Besides, when I carry the metal case and wear my Logitech Bluetooth headset, I look like the guy carrying the "football" for the President.

InnoPocket is the true source for all aluminum cases. Which one looks like the other? Not to mention their new magnesium line. I'm pretty sure we will see a magnum hardcase for the PSP. www.innopocket.com

You don't need to stab through the leather. Just put enough pressure on it to crack it (EDIT: with it being the screen, not the leather lol). Which is exactly what happened with my old Sony Clie. Granted, that was a touchscreen, but it's the same general idea. Oh and if it's just a scratched screen, that's not expensive to replace. My old GBA had a scratched up screen and a new screen thing was like $2 through Nintendo. Now, if the glass itself was scratched, that would be a whole other story...
