Hi all,

The PSP game lineup isn't too exciting for me, but I obviously need to play a game, right? So here's what I have:

1. My favorite genre are RPG first and foremost then Action/Adventure. I can't stand sports and most racing games so they are OUT of the question.

2. I want this game to keep me busy until other games in my preferred genre are released, so a short game is out of the question.

3. I would like the ability for wireless multi-player.

I've looked at a ton of games. So far the only ones that look decent are:

A. Untold Legends (I like Diablo, Baulder's Gate, etc, but this game has gotten bad review... Gamespot gave it a 6!!)
B. Ape Escape (Could be a short game with only 200 monkeys to catch... once caught there's no replay value).
C. Lumines (I'm hoping it's as addicting as they say because personally it looks like crap).
D. Metal Gear (But I hate the Pokemon card game aspect, so I don't even know if I even want to play it... but choices of games are extremely limited for me).

What say ye? Can anyone suggest a good game for me? I really need the advice/input because I'm at my wits end with choosing a game... one of the main reasons I haven't run out and snatched up a PSP... Help?

My suggestion to you would be to wait. But if you must buy a game now I would highly suggest Lumines, guaranteed hours of gameplay! Ah, thanks so much Ghost. I saw a little something about it but it's still far off from release. I need something to play within the next 1 to a week and a half. I checked out Lumines again last night... it just doesn't look like something I'd play for long. I wasn't a huge Tetris fan. I have Tetris on my Axim right now and don't even play it. I seriously don't see how that thing will entertain me for more than 10 minutes and the music grates on my nerves. I despise techno/house stuff. I was thinking I'd turn the sound off and listen to my iPod while I played but I shouldn't have to pay $39+ for a game who's sound I can't bare to hear! So Lumines is looking weak as an option to buy...

What about Untold Legends? It's reported to have over a hundred levels... but it's gotten week scores from both iGN and Gamespot...

Ape Escape looks realy good- like a cool action/platformer- but I don't know if "kiddie" is for me. Man this is tough! I really need the advice. Can anyone chim in and help a confused gamer? Thanks.

I don't really enjoy Untold Legends...why? Because it hurts my hands, I'm constantly hacking and slashing .. I dislike Realtime Combat lol. The game is also way to easy, you never have to spend your gold. But that's just my oppinion. Ape escape actually seems fun, I was going to get that, it reminds me somewhat of Megaman Legends. Go to gamefly and rent it :P.

I have both Untold Legends and Lumines and enjoy them both. Untold is better than I thought it would be and will give many hours of gameplay. Lumines is awesome if you like puzzle games.

I see you're not a racing or sports fan, just like me. STILL, I decided most of the launch games sucked, and thought Ridge Racer looked pretty slick. The graphics looked beautiful and the gameplay looked fast. I decided I'd give it a try, and it was as fun as it looked. One of the highest points of the game in my opinion as a non-racing-fan would be the awesome soundtrack. It gives you this exhilarating feeling as the fast paced music plays while you drift around a corner at 160mph passing like 3 people. I totally recommend it. It also has wireless multiplayer.

IMHO online surveys never really convinced big companies of making a game. Unless you are going to get a massive majority to sign the petition, the company will just do the usuall and follow the money.

While tales of eternia looks cool and all, I find it hard to pay $40-$50 for all of these PSX ports. Ape Escape, TOE (We saw it as TOD2), Medievil. I agree that it is cool to have them on a mobile console and all, but drop the price a bit. I don't think the ports (yeah, I know they are adding some stuff, and reformatting the screen) should be costing more than $30.

Now, start giving us some new PS2 ports like GT4, and I will have no problem dropping the cash for one of these.

I can't wait for a GTA game. I play those for hours and hours lol.
I am sure there is much more to come from the PSP.

Know what, I had the same problem with gold on the EQ:CON and EQ:RTA on PS2. The money and shops were useless. I only ever bought 1 sword, and potions. The formula worked as such: 1) Stock up 2) gate back to the shop 3) sell everything for health potions.

That being said, I still liked the game, it just seemed like the shop was a useless concept. Oh well, I need to stop comparing every hack and slash to diablo2.

Maybe someone can get SEGA to put Sword of the Berserker on this thing. That was a pretty good hack and slash, and of course, it did not do great, given its home console

They are making one, a FF VII spin off and I'm sure they will be making more but that won't be out for a while.
