The DS isn't all the big, especially when folded up (which is one thing that it has that beats the PSP. It protects it's screens). But yea, the PSP is like 100 times better.

Except for the memory, that just pisses me off, sony always has to make their own format. It is always way over priced, i just dont get it.

sony always has to make their own format.

so had Nintendo..

Although it was pretty easy to rip & change the flash cards, even buy ++size cards to use with nintendos.

What do you say we turn this thread into DS/PSP comparison/contrast?

hehe, go ahead, I never really liked DS though. It seemed bulky , squarish, and old styling. I never liked it much at all. And Nintendo's games except for say mario were usually not that good imo.

The DS stands for "DiSaster" in my book. It's the ugliest, bulkiest, unattractive handheld I've ever laid my eyes on in the history of gaming! What was Nintendo thinking with that grey, cheap, flimsy hulking piece of plastic anyway?? Two crappy small screen make for one big disappointment. Nintendo could have done better-SHOULD have done better and talk is on the wind that they will be adandoning the DS in favor of a new incarnation of the Gameboy before the year is out. Sony will overtake them in 2 years, mark my words. Sony is projected by many market analysists to have over 40% market share within a year... in 2 years, Nintendo will buckle and bow to the new King of Handhelds: Sony's PSP.

Hopefully, Nintendo will learn a serious lesson in asthectics (and quality gaming) from Sony or become a casualty in the handheld gaming war. Ride or Die. Sink or Swim. Put Up or Shut Up. Beat Sony or Die Trying. Looks like they've got a weak pulse and a Hell of a fight on their hands. Good luck Nintendo, your decades of Dynasty are coming to in end.

I waited in line for the DS and bought two of them, one for me and one for my 9-yr old stepson. I could not wait to open it up and play madden, man was I disappointed when I opened the package. The DS was one of the cheapest feeling/looking electronic devices I have ever had. I even think the Gameboy SP/Advance were constructed better. The DS felt like it was almost hollow with nothing to it. The dual screen thing is cool for having plays below you in Madden but I would much prefer one large screen. My stepson likes his DS but I returned mine after a week. The PSP is on a completely different level.

Yeah I've played on a DS before (also my friends. *looks sadly at his GBA with a broken L button). They are bulky and hard to hold, but it does have some ok games. I enjoyed Mario 64 and Metroid, but that was about it... I think Sony is going to be the new handheld leader.

I agree completely Allk. I was horribly disappointed when I held a DS in my hands and took a good look at it. I've never felt anything cheaper and hollow in my life, no kidding. But I wanted to give the DS a chance. I really wanted to like it, so I played Metroid... I had to force myself to keep playing because the game's control wasn't on par in my book... The DS is just a huge mistake on Nintendo's part. Hopefully they'll learn from it.

I've always been a "nintendo guy" I used to love the N64, and I immediatley bought the gamecube when it came out, and always adamately defended it against the PS2. But just 2 months ago me and the cube parted ways, in favor of a shiny new xbox. I wanted to like the DS a whole lot, I really wanted two screens to be "the next generation of gaming" , and until a little while ago, I defended the DS against the PSP, but now I've seen the light, and have realized that the psp is now king. My friend has offered to sell me his DS for the price of only $70, and here I find myself turning down that offer, because I need to save my money to purchase the PsP.

Yeah the DS seems kinda dead. It never really had exciting games. And the overall design was bulky and not sleek.
