The headphones that came with the PSP arre great, good sound quilty good bass, med tone the only problem with them is they dont block all the qustions that the people who dont have a PSP have if they locked them out it would be perfect.

I am really surprised that Sony went with white color ones... You think they want to differentiate (spelling!) between the Ipod...

I agree completely. They should have gone with sleek black and not try to copy the white earbuds of the iPod... oh well. Also, the headphones are lop-sided like the EX71 series, which I own a brand new pair of, and feel a bit "cheap", but the sound out of them is AMAZING! I have to admit that the PSP's sound, even from the tiny speakers, is well above par. Kudos to Sony for the sound... I just wish they included sturdier BLACK earphones.

ADDITION: I own two iPods. I can truely say that the Apple stock earbuds are pretty bad, so it's not just Sony. I went out and purchased an expensive pair of Shure studio monitors/earphones which are black in color and I plan on using those with the PSP.

I give Sony a thumbsdown on the white headphones also, they should have matched the PSP in black.

I like the look of the white headphones. It contrasts the the color of psp and looks more stylish than all black would. Also Sony probably didn't want to spend more money on making black headphones glossy looking.

i say the headphones should be midnight blue with the words PSP in silver reflective glow in the dark paint on the wire!

They used to sell green ones when first walkmans came out. You remember those with the Red or Green huge puffs. the (currently) ultra cheap ones. I think a model before the ones that are being given/sold *for $2, mind you* on the airplanes..

I like the way they are "staggered" so the cord and control box doesn't hang down and pull the sides around your face. I believe this is a Japanese thing.

Btw, the white is no good. Actually, I have a really nice set of Sony headphones that I use. These aren't "buds" and are a bit big, but I carry my PSP gear in a backpack to work so it's all good.
