Importing a PSP
For us Eurpean users (who will not get the PSP within 3 months, maybe even xmas 2005) what are your experiences with importing the PSP from Japan or USA ?

- Price
- Warranty
- Region Code
- Best shops to buy one
- Etc.

Please help those European PSP fans !

Regards,
Rene

Lik-sang.com is pretty good, but note that when you buy stuff from country's outside the EU you will pay VAT...

In holland that's 19% of the total kosts,,

The best PSP to get for EU users is a Japense one (region 2)

Note that I don't have a PSP yet..

I think they are not region free.

Each PSP is coded with Region. This includes games & movies. If your PSP is coded Region 1, that means your PSP can play Region 1 UMD Movies, as well as Region ALL UMD movies.

PSP games are mostly Region ALL.

They might as well control the game releases and locale by coding the games with the same type, which I think what "JAPANESE" games are.

Although not all Japanese games will bear coding, some might. Currently, most of the games are R-ALL, and this leaves an open door for Sony to control which games can be sold/played where and when.

Yeah. Regions are lame. I'm sure there will be a hack somewhere though.

http://www.laughingbuddhashop.co.uk/

Remember liksang has shiping on top (think its around €35 - brings it to this guys prices)

Due to reports of broken pixels on the PSP screen, we offer to open and test all PSP on your request before we send them. Just add this to the comments to us during paypal processing. We want to make sure you are totally satisfied with your product.

Laughingbuddhashop cannot be held responsible for any customs fee you may recieve on the arrival of your parcel. In the unfortunate circumstance that you receive a VAT or customs fee. Send us a photocopy of the bill and we will refund you 50% of the fee. Therefore we share any customs cost incurred.

Im thinking of importing with this place - About same price after you add shipping to liksang.com and they offer to pay 1/2 of customs fee's (on liksang's forum they are saying is around £50 if yours is inspected)
