I'm using the D-Link DI-624 and it appears to be connected using WEP. However, when I go to check for an update for the PSP, I get the error message saying that an access point isn't found. I don't get the error numbers that the other guys were getting (once I set up the PSP correctly for WEP, I didn't get them anymore). Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

It is really difficult to determine the cause.... Especially when we have no way of checking the connection ON psp..
Can you ping PSP from your PC? That might help us check a few things.
Go to your PC, and if you remember your PSP's IP address, just go Start, Run, Command [Enter] type ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ip address and enter.
see if it pings back and forth?

I had all the settings on automatic so it doesn't show my IP. Is there a way to see what the PSP's IP is through the PSP?

I just got my PSP today. I have checked everything and stil get the 80410D09 error. If I disable the encryption I can get the PSP to work, however I do not want to convert the network over just for this purpose. I have read all of the posts here and still cnnot find a solution that works. I have made sure that the WEP key is correct, tired manually entering an ISP, told the router to accept the PSP with its MAC address and I still cannot get rid of this error when testing.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hey folks- Just bought the PSP, and had a lot of these same errors.

One thing I noticed was that in ad hoc mode it only uses certain channels- leading me to believe it will only operate on those channels.

My router was set to broadcast on 8

Changed it to 6

WORKED! Yippe!

I sure hope this helps others!

My router was already set to channel 6 and I still received the same error msg until I reset router wireless network mode from G-Only type to Mixed.

EUREKA!!! After almost a week of futzing around with my network I finally got both my PSP and my wife's PSP connected to our home wireless network and got rid of the dreaded 80410D09 Error!

The PSP was connecting when I turned off the encryption but was not when the WEP encryption was enabled. The problem was a simple setting on the router. Under "Authentication Type" I had selected "shared key". I switched it over to "automatic" and both PSPs connected immediately.

For anyone using a Netgear router, this is found under the "Setup" area and "wireless settings".

I hope this helps anyone else who is having a similar problem.

Sorry, but setting that parameter to "automatic" just means that it will use try to use "shared key" and if that fails it will fall back to no security. So your PSPs are connecting all right, but with no security.

1) what kind of router do you have?

2) please check your IP address and details of your PC and let us know the information, go to Start/Run/ type : COMMAND, hit enter, type ipconfig /all and hit enter, and copy past all the information you have returned.

based on that we can find out what kind of connection you have, maybe we can recommend something

%1 will be due to WEP, turn it off and try (i didn't have this problem, but some did.)

second option, just copy everything OFF your PC, and input it to your PSP.
Turn of your PC/Laptop and turn on your PSP, and try again (cannot have two MAC using 1 IP)

Good luck.
