For Linksys WEP router users:
listen to Hyedipin... definately knows his stuff. Anyone getting a connection but showing a signal strength of 1% and notice that the internet connection: Failed, Try this:
For Linksys users....
log in to the linksys site where you change all your router settings, click on the STATUS tab.
The info you need on this page is:
*Subnet Mask
*DNS 1
*DNS 2
You will also need to set your IP and Defalt router.
*set your IP Address to 192.168.1.1XX (xx being a random number between 01 and 99)
*Set your Default router to 192.168.1.1
NOTE: Setting your PSP to use an IP different from what your computer(s) is/(are) using usually fixes the connection issue.
Once you have all this info, set up your network on your PSP.
On Address Settings, select custom.
IP Adress settings, select Manual.
Now,
*Set IP to the unique IP as listed above (192.168.1.1XX)
*subnet mask (as found above)
*Primary DNS (DNS 1)
*Secondary DNS (DNS 2)
Proxy Server (Do Not Use)
Save settings, and you should be connecting.
FYI: make sure your router is brodcasting as Mixed or B. The PSP will not connect if you are broadcasting in G only.

You told me it doesn't work when you set it manually.
Pls try to set it manually again, however make sure you give DNS info as my above post.
The rest should be exact duplicate of what your PC shows.
Turn off your pC and try on PSP.
WHen you set MANUAL above config will appear..
and give it:
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.104
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DNS: as my above post
and good to go (should be)
@viperrepiv,
really strage, to me...
one problem.. the DNS at the time you try could be down.
so it skips it.
Pls try a different dns (ENGADGET's Portal) that's an optional portal to give to your psp.
@DrStrange,
Sorry dude, SONY restricted listing PSP error codes to SDK only.. so no codes for us now..
