How loud are other people's UMD disks when they are being read? I know they are supposed to make noise, but mine seems really loud. Let's say you were sitting next to someone on a couch and playing the PSP. Could the other person hear the disk access noise?

shake it up a little to see if it is loose or not in place?

I can defenatly hear the disc noise.
when I have the sound off while I am playing in a class room, you hear the PSP reading the disc very loud..

Playing Psp In Class Make The Day Go By So Fast Ans Plus When Ur Playen With A Friend Across The Class. Mine Isnt Very Loud But You Might Have A Problem With The Psp Its Self

Ya, mine is pretty noisy as well.

It is more noisy than my friends, and when you are putting in the UMD on mine you have to hold the disc while closing the door or it pops out. I do not think this is totally normal, and i got my PSP about a month ago.

BUT i am not going to try and do warranty work on it or return it since:

1) Everything seems to be working fine and the noise is not THAT bad
2) My friends both bought PSPs at the same time I did at the same store and both have dead pixels....i have none!

Disk noise is common. Some disks are actually noisier than others when reading, for whatever reason.
