Take a look at this video, it shows pretty much everything, and it seems like TV-Out will be a great improvement and one of the biggest selling points:

They didn't mention the firmware version, I assume they would start a new line of firmwares, or continue, maybe a new line with 4.0 or something like that. I would completely skip 3.x line.

Looking forward to more hands on reviews and detailed information on it.

I'm going to stick with my old fat PSP for obvious less than legal reasons :)

I do think the speakers on the new 2000 series are better located up on the face of the handheld though.

I'm forever covering up the speakers with my hands/anything i leaned it on!
