Can I block just some Avatars?

I am not trying to be rude, but there are some member's avatars that I really do not wish to see. I know I can turn off all images, but is there a way to turn off just some of them? I could ban them from my viewing all together, but they are are not annoying other than their avatar choice. Weird request, but man some of those I really do not wish to see. They are not offending, just annoying, know what I mean?

Any ideas?

Oh man...I was afraid this would happen. Nope it is not yours! LOL There are only a few, and I won't name them, but now you have me thinking...

Maybe we should have a best and worst avatar poll?! Perhaps some of the worst ones might be inspired to create a new one?

What do you think?

I believe this is possible with Style Sheets, at least in IE. IE lets you choose an external style sheet that supercedes all other page formatting (part of the accessibility options). If this style sheet forced certain elements, eg. an image with a certain name, to be not rendered this would give you what you are after.

Just scroll a little to the right and you won't see them. I've never seen anything offensive on here...must be the hair in my eyes.

You can definitely do it with a custom .css -- look at the one Floppymoose uses for ad blocking as an example. Erm, seems a little high maintenance to me, but whatever works for you. Can't you just turn them all off in your user preferences? I think you can turn sigs off too.

You should just train your eyes to ignore stuff that offends you. If an object offends you, just look away or make a complaint if it is justified. In this case, its similar. Just train yourself to look away. Don't let little things (like an avatar) cause you to be annoyed. If this little object can cause you to be annoyed, then when big things happen, you would not be able to control yourself. Just a thought.

Yes, there is a way.

1. Download and install Firefox

2. Add the Adblock Firefox extension.

3. Right-click on the offending avatar(s), and select 'Adblock Image'
