Its annoying. I get it too. You have to memorize what the link is, and click the side that isnt covered up. I noticed this only with flash ads. If you get off the main page, go to like search or something, there will be less ads. I have been using ie for so many years, since 4.0, seems like a while to me 1998-2006 that it would be hard to switch to firefox. I would feel like such a newbie using firefox.

oh! I bet you could handle it. You'd be surprised how liberating some of these other browsers are.

FireFox User, love the tabs. I turn off Java & flash when stuff like this bothers me.
p.s. Not seeing any ads now, using Pocket IE.

It's not a pop-up ad. The menu is drawn UNDER the ad when it drops down. Simplest work-around is to just hit refresh until another ad is in that spot.

The SODOKU add refered in the first post is a actually a Flash banner. The other adds that appear in this space are animated gifs. If you look at the SODOKU add, it would be hard to turn it into a animated gif. The Flash plugin is what is causing the banner to be placed "on top" of the page. If I am right, I think only Macromedia will be able to solve this problem.

Chris could also move the adds lower, perhaps switching them with the "Poll" or tell his clients to use only animated gifs. Unfortunately either of these changes could alter the add rate. The lost money would need to be made up somehow....

The SODOKU add (Flash) rotates with the buyGPSnow add (animated gif). Simply hit the "Home" button and the page should reload with the alternate add. The buyGPSnow add will allow you to see the drop down menus.
