Firefox won't remember password

Not a huge deal but I am just wondering if anyone else has this same problem. I am using firefox ver.1.5.01 with Windows XP pro. I recently formatted my HD (after we went to the new site) and firefox now will not ask to save my PW. It used to remember the PW on the new site before I wiped my HD. Firefox still asks to remember the password on most other sites just not this one, which makes me think that the problem is somewhere with this site. I frequently clear my cookies, otherwise I would stay logged in and this would not be a problem. If you are thinking to yourselves " I don't have any problems" then clear your cookies and wipe your saved passwords in password manager for me and let me know if it asks to remember your password. I would like to know if I am the only one having problems.

I actually stopped using FF's PWMgr. However, There is an option under Clear Private Data to clear Saved Passwords and that option is NOT checked by default. You may want to try checking it and clearing them one time.

I did that but Firefox still won't ask to remember the password. EBAY and others did however.

You might check the FireFox forums. Something under \DocumentsAndSettings\username\ApplicationData\Mozilla\FireFox\Profiles\ is not as it could be.

I would try downloading the latest version of FF again, uninstall and install from your download. Oftentimes it's easier to steamroller the problem than use a surgical method!

Would anyone else who uses firefox be willing to clear their cookies and saved password to see if it is a site problem?

Do you happen to be using the U3 version from YourBrainz? It wouldn't save passwords for me either. I switched to the other U3 version from Haller of Portableapps and it works fine. Otherwise, have you checked the Save Passwords box under Tools>Options>Privacy>Passwords?

Edit: Another thing I didn't like about the YourBrainz U3 version of Firefox was the homepage was locked to their website and couldn't be permanently changed to a website of my choice.

I have no clue what those other versions are. I got mine from http://getfirefox.com. It is the latest version for the PC.
