Is there any way to ignore certain threads? There are some that I just don't read and for some reason it irks me to no end to have to skip over those while reading the new posts.
That's a very good question. I wonder what the answer is. I'm sure Chris, Gigi, Frenchy, or some other wonderful staff member will shead some light on this.

Most forums have the ability to set an individual Ignore List as well as a Buddy List; however, this does not function at the thread level, only at the post level.
This site simply has a more active "off topic" forum than most. I engage the biological filter between my eyes, brain, and fingers to simulate an ignore list myself.

Unless you acquired one from proximity to parents or teachers, you'll need to work for a year or three in a particularly dysfunctional corporate environment to develop your own.

This would be your best solution, foeggy. At present, there is no feature that will allow a user to ignore complete threads and/or forums.
A good solution would be to have the "Water fountain" not show up on mixed listings (Like New posts, Todays posts). Should be easy to implement (perhaps even included in vbullentin).
If you guys have specific suggestions, comments, etc. please feel free to share them. I'll move this to Site Troubles/Suggestions so Chris can see this for sure.
i don't think that's necessary ... i don't think there's a real valid problem sorting through .. are some of us really that lazy?
This is a non-issue...

Really? You'd pay for something to block all posts other than Axim posts?
How much exactly...
I can make you something, but since your the only customer, research and development will be a bit steep. I can save you a little on the advertising costs if you pay in advance.
How about $10k? I think I could script up something for ya for that price! :approve:
I assume you mean the threads listed on the homepage. That'd be the place where you see everything mixed up. Otherwise, it would really come down to not clicking on the "off-topic" forums.
Honestly, if you don't want to read something, don't. It's really up to you. If you see someone post something about the war in Iraq, don't click it. Everyone here has the right to say what they want (to an extent). That is why Aximsite is what it is.
My biggest complaint is when they mix politics and Axim stuff... That's annoying. If it's technical, it's technical, if it isn't, it isn't.
Still, I'd be interested if Chris makes a ignore forums thing, or even ignore threads. vBulletin deffinately has the power to do that...

So, you make a forum that users have to request access to... kinda like an "adults-only" or "restricted access" forum. Users ask to have it visible otherwise it doesn't show up.
This sort of stuff happens on a lot of boards... you have a forum where people can talk off-topic and some folks use it as a "soapbox" to speak politics... and as a member of the community here, I sometimes also get weary of darting around the threads.
Add a vote for hiding a forum.
And yes, I am "lazy"... ;)
