Cannot Delete Attachments in Archived Thread

Do they count towards my total attachment storage limit? I think they are undeletable because the thread is locked for editing. I was clearing out some picture files to make room for more attachments (and replacing them with links to my photobucket pictures) and ran across this. Chris, any way to replace the locked-attached files with more photobucket links?
