In effort to keep the iPhone voting fair, I am watching the votes closely. I have found several votes from the same ip logged to users that were created in the same time frame.

It looks quite fishy and I don't won't the winner of the phone to be someone that abused the voting process.

Since this is my site, I could make a choice on my own, but this is a community and I like to be considerate to the masses.

IMHO, I don't think it is fair to allow members to solicit votes from other that are not already part of the community, so I am proposing that any member that was not registered before I posted the vote thread, not have a voting voice. I would have to delete quite a few votes already, but I think this is needed to keep this contest from getting out of hand, which I think it can easily happen now. I am already getting several emails complaining.

I want this to be fair. What are your thoughts?

I think your idea of not letting anyone vote who registered after the thread is very fair. It's a shame people would try to solicit votes that way

I agree with wdement and psionandy...only posters before the thread post date should be allowed, to eliminate anyone's "posse" from skewing the results.

I'd say count votes from members registered before the contest entirely, not just registered before the vote thread was posted.

It depends on what you want. If you want just the aximsite community to be able to vote, then don't allow recently registered users to vote. But some people want their friends and family to vote for them. Maybe you should just wait until the end and then try to sort the votes. I don't really care. Whatever you want is fine.
