Maybe because you titled it New developments on WM6 x51v ROM and posted the link suggesting it was to a hacked ROM. You know these discussions are not allowed so you essentially set a trap to try to make the mods look foolish. I suspect I'm the one you trapped but whether it was me or one of the other mods, I don't appreciate the tactics.
Frankly, I'm tired of this and I'll tell you, Eric, you are about 2 posts away from a permanant ban. You might be able to convince Chris to counter it but he's always supported the mods in these actions in the past.

hi, this is getting rediculous, why can't we respect the decisions of the moderators fo this site. is it really that important that this site discuss what is already being discussed elsewhere? do we need the redundancy? i am sure by now a big majority know about other roms, if they wish to discuss, there are other sites that do that. btw, i also check out other sites, but i still swing by this site almost everyday just to check whats going on.

I think the real reason is b/c chris could get screwed by microsoft or dell, if they find pirated stuff on this site, since it is usa based, it has to follow the rules.
I should also point out that the amount of this X50/WM6 crap is getting to be ridiculous... the mods do have things to do in life other than try to sort through every nuance of every X50/WM6 thread to decide if it has crossed the line or not.
There comes a point where where stuff is only KEPT when it appears okay after a quick triage, otherwise it is tossed in the bit bucket.
Do we prefer to work that way? No. But, that is the reality of the situation.
Why cant you ppl just SHUT THE F*** UP about WM6??? Yes it's out there, yes it's awesome, yes it's illegal as hell. Aximsite, imo, is dieing anyway, and this is part of what's contributing to it. This mature discussion of a grayware upgrade (WM5 aku upgrade) has been reduced to a schoolyard brawl! I'm on a dozen PPC/tech sites and have yet to see one where people are so keen on baiting moderators and jsut gennerally causing trouble! Just SHUT UP and enjoy what's left of the site.
Please note: when I say Aximsite is "Dieing" I mean the focus has shifted. As much as I hate to admit it, the axim, as it stands, is a dead line. Thus, the site was absorbed by a gnneral-PPC site, much like brighthand, so discussion mainly goes on about newer PDA/SP devices and the older ones get a post ehre or there. It's inevetable, I saw the same thing and felt the same way about Win 98 when XP came out and now XP since Vista's takign over. I was not trying to say chriss or the mods or admins are causing it. I only blame dell forthe death of the axim and it's surrounding support sites.
Now, CAN WE PLEASE GET BACK TO NORMAL DISCUSSION???

This mods here do a great job, if you can't adhere to the contract you agreed to when you joined you'll be ousted. Remember the Mods are people too, they can be offended and frustrated and all this discussion of illegal stuff is adding to their load, and it seems people are making the WM6 thing a free speech issue rather than an illegal software issue.

Honestly though, Ashton is right, WM6 on the Axim line is a moot point so why bother discussing it. The management has made it's position clear and so the choice boils down to the following: support them in it, shut up about it or get out. My view is that the WM6 "whiners" go to XDA-devs (where I do read occasionally) and talk about it where is is not against the rules.
This site is dying as Ashton says, the Axim section is degenerating into a "gimmie convoy" of people whining about WM6.

I spend a lot of my time resolving disputes over what in many cases are really quite minor differences - very small breaches of official rules. However there has not been one instance where I have felt that to publically belittle one of the parties would be beneficial to a reasonable resolution.
As you so frequently point out you have the power to delete threads, and more recently the power to ban someone if they post another 2 threads that you deem unacceptable. Is this the way that Aximsite/Mobility Site want the flexing of their proverbial muscles to be seen? I would hope not otherwise the members who predict the end of Aximsite might be closer to the truth than they think.
In the past, if you check, I have backed the owner of this site in relation to the WM6 ROM argument, primarily because I have an X30. In effect though there is no argument because there is no official Dell ROM. However unlike some people I don't believe that this is being policed wrong on this site but equally I do not think that the "Mods" are doing a great job. In my world if a Moderator deems a thread to be personally provocative then any action taken should be dealt with privately, not publicly. There is never any excuse for doing this in public. Ever.
