Today, there's a guy who made his first post over in x50 world asking how to install wm6 on his x50.
I felt like telling him "hey, did you try searching for this before asking a question?" , especially since it's his first post.
Then, I opened the search function from the tool bar and typed in:
wm6 x50
0 matches. From a previous post here, I remembered that 3 letter words are too short, so that made sense, and is why I didn't blast that guy for not doing a search.
Main Point:
Having said that, did you (Chris) ever consider establishing a new sub-forum called: WM6 Topics?
Maybe it could be at the same level as 50 / 51 hardware, accessories, newbies (underneath this level: Mobility Site » Dell Axim Forums - Aximsite.com » X50 / X51 Forums)
It might be a way to keep that topic separate and create more efficiency in the post reading and research. I, for one, would really enjoy it.
Ok, someone hand me a wet towel to wipe the egg from my face. :)
In defense of my ignorance (and there must be stats to back it up), so many people still post about this in the axim forum, not in the top level forum you mentioned.
Or, just like classifieds are moved from x50 to classifieds, wm6 posts could be moved to wm6. I don't know. It's such a hot topic that is now woven into the fabric of that forum.
It might make logical sense, but I'd bet that even if a WM6.0 subforum were created, there'd still be numerous postings to the more general x50 forum.

The vast majority of first, or relatively new posters, haven't spent the time to explore the site to determine which is the most appropriate forum to post in.
Generally, they will have done a google search and have got to the site because they found a related thread. Then they have a quick look and find the forum that relates to their device, not it's operating system.
I've noticed lately, that the registered user base has been expanding by around 1000 every week or so, and there are at least 1000 readers up to nearly 3000 readers at any one time.
Considering these numbers, it's hardly surprising that a few questions end up in odd places and usually, people learn quickly and post their subsequent questions in a more appropriate forum.
Basically, I'm just trying to say, I think people look for answers for their device first and operating system second, hence the relatively quiet environment of the WM6 forum. As you noticed yourself, sometimes it hides in plain sight.
The forum search on this site and most other sites just arent as good as google searches. Must be a forum software issue.
Just do this instead. Type this into the google search box without the quotes
"site:http://www.mobilitysite.com"
Then leave a space and type what you want to search for such as "wm6 x50". It comes up with good results.
