Unwanted Email notifications

For some reason, since the switchover, I am getting email notifications when I add to a thread, then somebody else adds afterwards. I went to the control panel, and sure enough the email notification by default was turned on. I turned it off, but I still keep on getting subscribed and emailed.

Has anybody else had this happen to them?

You did right turning it off... but you may still get a few that are you still subscribed to. Make sure when you post, that the Email Notification block is not checked....

It might be nice to have it off by default instead of on.
