Chris, Is there a way to have a place under your Avatar for your Skype number? That way we could all communicate and build the community even further. My other suggestion should you not agree is for everyone to list it in their sig. What do you think?

I can't recieve calls with my stanaphone account. Doesn't really matter though. I just wanted to show my friends I could call them from my computer.

I think I saw in the Skype Handle thread that Chris is considering putting such field in the profile screen :)

Chris - Maybe a generic field that the user could specify? That way, one could either put their skype or stanaphone #. Maybe put 2 fields, one would be the descriptor, the other the actual information.

Just a thought . . . :)

My thoughts on this seem to be (im never quite sure) that this info should go with the AIM, ICQ etc. Adding on to the same topic, i think that the way some forums (including The Water Fountain, i think) have the symbols for yahoo aim etc. is very nice and convieneint. Possibly add this for skype as well?

hrm, i never understood why we should put up the skype names...its like just putting up your phone number...

i dunno, for me there is a big difference in chatting to someone over the phone hearing their voice (like with skype) vs. just text like AIM and MSN

That damn sidebar is already large and long enough! IMO, If people want to broadcast their skype number/username, do it in your signature. Not need to make that left table column even LONGER.

But hey, maybe I'm a minimalist.

Chris, maybe refine your poll... I voted YES I have skype, but would say NO to adding to the sidebar.

I use Skype very much and i like the idea.

I don`t think its like putting your phone number in the Forum. Anyone can find you in skype by just putting in the gender and age and such stuff in the search bar. But if you don`t want to talk to ppl you don`t have to. You don`t have to put your skype phone # in the profile, just use ur Username. And if someone wants to add you, ignore it or not.
Noone will be forced to fill out that information. Its just an option for ppl who want it.
