I'm sorry to post it here, and i'll be moved anyway, but...
the reason you move so many posts is unclear to me. If you have to move so many posts it means that the forum structure is uncomfortable for the users! This is the reason they post on " inappropriate " forums. In this case the forums have to change not the other way around...
Please take it as apositive criticism & keep the briliant work, you are doing. Love this site..
We move posts that are in the wrong forum to get them better exposure to people with specific knowledge. It's been a challenge well before the forums were structured as they are. Some people are just to lazy to click a couple of times to get to the right forum. They just post in the first one they get to and blast away. Having the posts organized adds to the readability of the site, not the other way around. If we followed what people posted, we'd have 15 "miscellaneous" forums!
Thanks for the feedback. I was just thinking the same thing actually - that perhaps another re-arrange might be in order. :) I get sick of moving posts that's for sure :)
I don't know why people find it to so hard to post in the right forum. Even when I go to a new forum for the first time I make an effort to ensure that I post in the right forum, not just the first forum.
But people do tend to learn and they notice their posts being moved and post in the right forum.
Maybe we should have the PDA Axim/Newbies forum at the top??

To JakeRich - I'm sorry, but I disagree. Most of the people use search if they want to read, but if you want to post a question you aren't supposed to find yourself thinking : "Am I having a hardware problem' software, WM2k3, general, newbie? Is this an app, util, ? I just Have a problem and want to be answered.
Many times I for example check the forum even when I don't have a question, I just want to assist someone. I won"t browse all the forums. Maybe it's nothing but you have to consider this also.
Not sure if anyone noticed, but the forums were rearranged a bit last night.

maybe a newbies forum also. I like this subforum thingy. I don't think you should create different forums for hardware and software - it's not like we have different OSs available and many times people just do not know if the problem is soft or hardware related, maybe for games and other really unique issues...
Or you can think outside the box:
creating labels like those you can create at your gmail messages w/ multiple labels for each post - before you post you have to mark which forums will be able to see your post...
Or creating forums like:
What's new?
Why do I have this problem?
Found this on the web...
Found new feature...
etc. - I know, it's lame, but this is on the fly; have to think about it thoroughly ...
Maybe having a forum arrangement competition. i'm sure a good brainstorming from the users will be usefull. Make a "Supa-Dupa Forum Arranga" avatar or signature as a prize..
How old is this thread? Threads being moved help the search process. If you're talking about MP3's you're talking about something all PPC's can do.
Is it so unreasonable that you'd find that information in a forum called Multimedia?

All I say is: yes we are lasy, we do want everything right away (we ARE using handhelds) we do want to have an answer in a chat-like way, it's a cultural thing, we are modern humans , bla bla bla
