Actually it should have never come to this but thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to reply.

The reason the post is removed is that I deleted it.

Thank you, finally an answer, well sort of.

I don't have time to delete and monitor that aspect of the site as often as I like, but here and there one catches my eye. I know it makes me sound like a jackarse, but I do not like links (affiliate or not) to sites that make that poster money. It, in my eyes, is pure spam to line the pockets of those that do it. Sure, it saves my members money as well, but most of these deals you and a few others post DIRECTLY benifit the pockets of the poster.

I totally understand that you don't have the time but isn't that the purpose of having
2 Admins and 12 Moderators?
You don't sound like a jackarse at all. After all this is YOUR web site and forums. By joining the forums people agree to follow YOUR rules, which I did.
Shouldn't the rules be enforced equally and there should be some accountability?

I agree that you have followed the rules of the post I made.

My turn to rant :approve:

If you agree that the RULES WERE FOLLOWED and I
DID NOT post a single link (affiliate or otherwise), then why was the thread deleted?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the whole purpose of a hot deals forum to share hot deals and save money?
Is it fair to assume that all Hot Dealers spam their hot deals and posting their affiliate code in every post. If you recall our phone conversation July 2004 I expressed interest in being part of the community as a whole (not only Hot Deals). I even asked if I could donate $$$ and become a "contributor"? My posts are pretty evenly split between the Hot Deals and non-Hot Deals forums here. So it's obvious from our phone conversation and my prior 114 posts that I didn't sign up for YOUR forum just to post in Hot Deals.
I also run a vBulletin board and nothing pisses me off more than spammers. In fact I had to deal with one last night and made sure that he knew when he did was wrong. Here is the
spammers original post followed by his
apology
I've always believed that actions speak louder than words, don't you agree? Here's another example of what I think of Hot Deals spammers and it wasn't even on my own forum! If I encountered a Hot Deals spammer here, I would have reacted the exact same way.

I have been an active member in the Hot Deals community since Christmas 1998 when 800.com debuted with 3 DVDs for $1. I belong to some of the largest Hot Deals forums on the internet and have a sterling reputation which I would have never earned if I was busy posting my affiliate link everywhere (which is against most forums rules).
With your permission I'd like to post a copy of the deleted thread, as it was saved in my cache. You and the public will clearly see that not a single link was posted.

I am working on a way to share these deals with our users with the affiliate dollars coming to the site instead.

During the past 30 minutes while typing this long winded reply, I've actually come up with a few ideas. I'd be more than happy to share them with you after you have read this post and replied, answering my questions.
I look forward to your reply :)
