MagicStor 2.2GB Microdrive with WM5?
I've been unable to use my MagicStor 2.2GB microdrive since I bought it. I have an X50v with a A05 ROM. I think, looking at posts from people where these drives have worked, that this may be something to do with the ROM version. Therefore I'm hoping that upgrading to WM5 will help, especially as this version allows for HDD and the Magicstor is really a mini hard drive (you won't see microdrive mentioned on the site).

Has anyone used Magicstor cards on WM5? How did it go?

Cheers.

Anyone? Bueller?
I too was suckered into the cheap(er) price of the magicstor, but alas it sits in a drawer since it locks up. I'm expecting my WM5 upgrade CD in early Nov. Has anyone with an X51 tried the magicstor yet?

probably it may work fine but would sure eat up battery akiin to wi-fi on all the time. i bought one 2.2 GB magicstore yesterday, used for 14 hours (evening to morning) and exchanged it for 2.0 GB CF memory card. now my x50v rocks and at it's best performance till date. like it has been overdriven! this didn't happened even with microdrive - except battery drainage compelled me to exchange it for CF memory card.

I just got my X51v, and my magicstor is not working in it.

It worked just fine in my X50v. I just got my upgrade cd, and now it doesn't work in either of the PDA's. I think this must be a software problem.

Any light?

weird, mine works correctly in my x50v since i upgraded to wm5. it even shows up after a soft reset which it did not do before. i always had to remove it, do the reset then insert it to get recognized. now it stays it but of course it eats batteries like there is no tomorrow!!!

Hi.
I have just purchased an Axim X51v which I upgraded to ROM A04.
I had a Magicstore 2.2 GB drive and I was able to reuse it with the X51v. I haven't encoutered any problem with it so far.
Cheers.
