4GB Sony Micro Drive Compatible?
an someone please tell me if this CF/micro drive is compatible with the x50v? I talked with Dell today and they say they don't recommend it because it could damage the card or the PDA. They say the X50V is only capable of up to 1GB. Here is the sight: (a great deal too!) - http://www.flash-memory-store.com/so...icrodrive.html

While I have never used a Micro Drive my self, my understanding is they work fine in the Axim. I have seen several other people around here that have MD or very large cards. Good Luck~

I am ordering one myself so I'll verify once it gets here. It should work.
Don't believe what that Dell C/S rep said, axims can have much more than 1gb of storage.

Looks like a good deal and may very well work. Don't know what Dell was talking about regarding a 1gb limit. I am using a 6gb Hitachi MD with no problems. Also there a plenty of users on this forum using SD cards and CF cards with much greater capacities than 1gb.

I notice they also have the Hitachi for the same price.

Hey I found some new deals at Geeks.com that even better if you want to wait for them to restock their item. Here are the two I found:
4GB Hitachi--http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=13G1768-U&cpc=SCH&srm=0
5GB SeaGate--http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=ST650211CF-U&cpc=SCH&srm=0

I recieved my package from the Flash memory store.

Good news I recieved a 4gb Microdrive that works well in my X50V.
Battery life has not really changed much. Pretty quick transfer rates as well (1gb Divix movie in 4mins
)
Unexpected news it's not a sony MD! It's a Hitachi......

So I can't say I'm disapointed but I would have liked to see the difference (if any) between the Sony and the Hitachi.

Oh well.

I'm new to Axim ownership, but do use microdrives for other hobbies so I thought I'd share that Hitachi currently has a pretty decent mail-in rebate on their retail drives.

Looking forward to "power-using" my X51v, and glad to know it will support a microdrive.
