Sandisk Users HELP!

Hey,

I bought a 1GB Sandisk SD card last week for storing movies on i tried searching around to see if anyone had this problem, but whenever i save a file from my PC to the card w/Sandisk reader/writer the Axim never picks up that there are files on it.

Of course there are files because you can plug it right back into the PC and it shows up and reads fine. You can save files thru Activesync then everythings okay, but as you know saving a movie thru activesync can take a lifetime. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get the Axim to pick up on my movie?

Also, it not just the movie but any file/folder/data through the PC and the card reader doesn't show up on the Axim.

Did you try a soft reset after you installed the card back in the Axim, if not try that.

Okay i haven't tried that but what is the difference between the soft reset and the hard reset i have a X30 mid. Sorry for the dumb question but im a newbie to pocket pc.

I don't have an x30 but it should be a hole somewhere to stick the end of the stylis in. a soft reset just clears out the memory and fixes a lot of stuff that gets out of wack. it is like doing a control-alt-del on your pc. A hard reset will delete everyting that is loaded in main memory and put your pda back to the way it came to you when it was new. Also, create a directory on your card called My Documents and put your files in there and see if you can then see them on your pda

Use a Scandisk 1GB CF and a Scandisk 1GB SD card. Neither has a problem.
From ActiveSync simply download from the desktop to your Axim.

Windows Media does the rest. I don't understand the problem (?).

Easy does it. All works well using ActiveSync 3.8 which you can download, freebie, at www.microsoft.com.

I bought 2G Scandisk (150X) on last week and work fine. I copy movie from SD cardreader less than 2mins for 250M but more than 15mins for activesync 4.

What card reader are you using? I've had previous problems with the files not showing up on the Axim when using a card reader I borrowed (no idea brand) some time ago. If it works for you, I would be interested to know. I have a SanDisk 1G SD Card currently and have a Kingston 2G CompactFlash card in the mail. I would LOVE to find a card reader that actually works with these. Transferring through ActiveSync takes days it seems.

The card reader i use is Sandisk Mobile Mate. Its alittle bigger that there thumb drives and reader 5 different cards. But CF is not one of them. I got mine for 15 bucks at Circuit City. The soft reset did the trick everything shows up perfectly now.
